Week 01
I have always been doing a little bit of everything, I have been tech-savvy and curious ever since I was a child, but that thing has become my disadvantage, sort of.
As a jack of all trades, I tried to do all at once, and that has made me a donkey.
I think mastering one thing first is important.
Focusing most of your energy, and time at one thing first and then branching out from that is very necessary to play a long term game. And I’m here for that.
So, I told myself, instead of having a little bit of backend skill, a little bit of security knowledge, and a little bit of that, a little bit of this, why not deep dive to one, and branch out later? So I choose backend.
I have a bit of backend knowledge, but I wanted to start from the beginning, so I tried researching courses, and materials, and I found out boot.dev.
Their materials were free, I tried it, and I loved the course and the platform, then back on December 12, 2025, I asked if they offer a student discount on Twitter/X.
They gave me 25% discount on their course, and a generous man offered me 35% discount, I got excited and bought the course.
After finishing three courses, Python, Linux, and Git, I stopped learning completely, for almost 3 months.
But now I’m back again learning, and to keep myself accountable I started logging my journey on Twitter/X every day, and on my site every week.
My first week was good.
I have learned a few things in the past 4 days.
- Did my first course project, a command line application in Python.
- I learned about clean coding, and classes.
- I met someone who commented on my post, and encouraged me to keep learning.
It was generally a good start.
I don’t know how this log will structure in the future, I guess I’ll figure out on the way.
I plan to learn at least 3 chapters in the Object-Oriented Programming section next week. Furthermore, I can tell it’s going to be a fun week.
